SESTUPNÁ 18 APARTMENT BUILDING

A project in the Liboc district of Prague 6, situated on the slope of Sestupná Street, brings new life to the site of the former pub. The building complements the character of the street, whose name Sestupná symbolizes the gradual descent of the masses of individual structures, a concept that the design cleverly respects. By being divided into two parts, it retains the village-scale typical of this area. The street line and descending terrain are taken into account so that the new building naturally fits among the surrounding houses, creating a harmonious connection between modern architecture and traditional appearance.

The new building consists, on one side, of a courtyard wing adjacent to the rock wall, while the other side leaves ample space for the neighboring house, emphasizing consideration for the surrounding buildings. The reinforced concrete structure with a sand finish blends with the local environment. The glazed facade facing the courtyard allows for plenty of natural light and a connection between the interior and exterior.
