HAŠTALSKÁ APARTMENT

The apartment, which has an area of 121m2, is located within building Haštalská 4, in the Old Town of Prague 1. This building is a representative tenement house from 1902 built based on a project by builder Jan Hugo Dvořák for Vácslav Havel. In 1929, a studio with apartment was established in the attic for painter Ženíšek and in the 1990s another apartment was built in the attic.

RECONSTRUCTION OF AN ATTIC MAISONETTE TO RECTIFY INADEQUATE MODIFICATIONS FROM 2007
Placing a fully glazed partition wall with sliding doors into the room with a courtyard façade and installing a new skylight in the kitchen helped to improve the insufficient light levels on the ground floor of the maisonette. By opening up the entrance hall into the living room, removing drywall partitions, exposing wooden parts of the roof structure and using bright pastel colour tones in combination with black immediately achieved a pleasant change in the interior. The original bathrooms were modernised on both floors using large black and grey ceramic tiles.
At the clients request the whole interior was fitted out with furniture designed and made in a modern and simple style using light colour tones in combination with oak veneer. This furniture completes the interior functionally and visually.
