KRČ RAILWAY STATION

zavřít projekt

The Krč railway station is located in the southern part of Prague near Jižní spojka highway. The main concept of this design is mainly built on connecting the existing park, new metro D station “Nádraží Krč”, reconstructed railway station, and a new public bus stop.

THE CHALLENGE IS THE CONNECTION BETWEEN GREEN AREAS AND INFRASTRUCTURE

On the west, the area connects to Sulická street and a highway exit. On the contrary, the east part connects to a 19th-century Chateau St. Havel with an adjacent chateau park and a cycle path connecting the upper and lower part of a Krč district. Part of the new space in front of the station is an existing lake, which will be revitalized as a part of the construction of the metro station. Part of this revitalization is connecting the lake to a brook Kunratický potok bringing water in and out of the lake.

ESSENTIAL CONNECTION OF METRO, JIŽNÍ SPOJKA HIGHWAY, BUS AND TRAIN

The most important moment of the urban concept seems to be the placement of the northern entrance to the Nádraží Krč metro station in this area. This redefines the connections within this area and even shifts its function and importance. From separating greenery this area turns into an entrance to the former Dolní Krč now remains of this housing structure on slopes on the north.
