HÁJE

close project

The main aim of this spatial study made for the Prague 11 district was to consider how people transfer through the area, together with the completion of a shopping and community center near the Háje metro station.

The area lies at the center of the eastern part of South City and encompasses the metro terminal station that finds itself surrounded by established housing developments. The potential of this location is yet to be fully explored; it was built as a center for adjacent districts and after the proposed interventions it may well be able to fulfill not only its natural multifunctional urban position but also serve as an administrative center for South City and its surrounding areas. The visual axis, in an east-west direction, is Opatov Street, which acts not only as an axis but also as a barrier that divides and prevents natural pedestrian connection. The study proposes how to overcome this barrier and further serves as a brief for future spatial regulations.
